On January 30, 2009 the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission voted unanimously to issue a one year stay of enforcement for certain testing and certification requirements for manufacturers and importers of regulated products, including products intended for children 12 years old and younger. However, the CPSC makes it clear that only testing and certification are stayed, and not the need to comply with the rules, regulations, etc.
The component materials for all Schiff Ribbons products (including, but not limited to, yarn, dye and ink) fall well below the lead content limits established by the CPSC for their deadline dates in February, 2009, August, 2009 and August 2011. Schiff Ribbons does not use phthalates in any of its component materials.
